Lotus Esprit Caught Testing

WorldCarFans has caught some more shots of the Lotus Esprit. The website maintains that as this is the first time a complete mule has been spotted (previous prototypes appear to have been cobbled together from the last Esprit), this likely means that the car’s fixed points and drivetrain technology has been decided upon.

The car’s running gear remains something of a mystery, though it could use a 4.4 or 4.8-liter V-8 sourced from BMW.

The new car is expected to be significantly pricier than the last Esprit, and is likely to be another entrant in the $125,000+ niche that appears to be developing into a sweet spot for the wealthy.
In related news, the website has also caught the Elise-derived Tesla Roadster undergoing testing, complete with a fabric soft top.
